Located in the heart of New York City, the Caedmon Discovery Camp offers a dynamic NYC summer day camp experience designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire joyful learning. Our campers explore the very best of the city, taking full advantage of its world-class museums, parks, and cultural institutions to create a summer filled with discovery and adventure.
From the top of the Empire State Building to the depths of the Coney Island Aquarium, and from the Bronx Zoo to the New York Hall of Science in Queens, our campers enjoy age-appropriate trips, hands-on learning, and enriching activities led by experienced Caedmon teachers and talented specialist instructors.

Our camp groups are thoughtfully organized by age, ensuring that every child participates in developmentally appropriate activities and experiences. Group placement determines each camper’s weekly schedule, including the number of off-site trips and the types of programs offered each week.
All field trips take place Monday through Thursday, giving campers abundant opportunities to explore the city. Fridays are dedicated to an all-camp, on-site specials event, bringing the entire community together for enrichment, creativity, and fun.
The "Staten Island Frogs" is the youngest group at Discovery Camp. We offer a full-day and half-day program; each day is packed with fun and educational activities, including art, music, movement, courtyard play, theater games, and water play twice a week. In addition, we have special events on Wednesdays and Fridays that captivate and enthrall every camper.
The “Brooklyn Beavers” group is a full-day program. Campers enjoy a special activity on Wednesdays, they go swimming twice per week, and they have water-play in the courtyard each week!
The “Manhattan Monkeys” group is a full-day program. Campers enjoys a special activity on Wednesdays, they go swimming twice per week, and they have water-play in the courtyard each week!
The “Bronx Bees” group will be divided into Junior Bees, age 6 and Senior Bees, age 7. Both groups will take two trips per week! These trips take place every Tuesday and Thursday. In addition to these trips, the Bees groups go swimming twice per week and enjoy special activities at school.
The “Queens Penguins” group will be divided into Junior Penguins, age 8-9, and Senior Penguins, age 10-12. Both groups will take three trips per week. While at camp, the Penguins will enjoy many fun activities. These groups also go swimming once per week and enjoys one special trip to a water park.
When campers are not exploring New York City, they enjoy a full schedule of engaging, hands-on activities inside Caedmon’s four-story school building. Our highly skilled counselors and experienced specialists guide campers through a wide range of enriching programs, including swimming, arts and crafts, movement, music, science, tennis, and—of course—sports and games in our outdoor courtyard.
The three youngest camp groups enjoy water play 2–3 times per week, providing a fun and developmentally appropriate way to stay cool while building confidence around water.
