As the first program of its kind among Independent Schools in NYC, our After School program provides an enriching extra-curricular experience for children, offering an array of classes, lessons, and activities. Often with over 50 class offerings per trimester, there is definitely something for everyone, including Lego Robotics, Sewing, Fencing, Junior Builders, and Ballet. Private lessons are also available through the Caedmon Music School, with opportunities to study piano, violin, voice, guitar, rock drums, electric strings, and more. We’re proud of this exciting line up of classes and are always looking for ways to suit the budding interests of each child.
Classes for children in the Half-Day Early Program run from 11:35 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. during the winter and spring trimesters.
To accommodate working families, Caedmon After School classes for Full-Day Early Program and Elementary students are 40, 60, or 80 minutes in length, with pick up times at 4:20 p.m., 4:40 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. Private music lessons can run as late as 6:00 p.m.
Registration for After School can be completed in person or online via My Backpack. Please make checks payable to The Caedmon School. Credit card payment is also accepted in person at the business office or by calling extension 303. A $20 late fee will be charged to anyone who enrolls after the stated registration deadline for that trimester. Unless you are notified by telephone or email, consider your child automatically enrolled. Registration cannot be accepted from families owing fees from prior terms.
Tuition is fully refundable until the first class. A pro-rated refund of the course fee is available prior to the third class. There are no refunds available after the third class.
After 3:30 each day, all Caedmon students are welcome to attend Extended Day. Primarily designed in support of working parents, Extended Day is an activities-based program that runs from 3:30 to 6:00pm. Supervised by three instructors, including a Caedmon teacher and after school staff, the children receive a snack before joining in outdoor games in the courtyard or indoor crafts and games in the Caedmon downstairs space.
From 4:00 to 4:30 each day, 1stthrough 5thgraders head to an upstairs classroom for Homework Helper. Younger children remain in the courtyard or downstairs space during this time.
Children may be picked up any time between 3:40 and 6:00pm. Families are billed at the rate of $20/hour or any portion thereof. Minutes and hours accrue and a monthly invoice is sent out from the Caedmon business office. Rates are reduced for families who receive tuition assistance.
